Recipe for 4 stewed pears;

Ingredients:

4 Pears

350 ml. Red fruity wine

250 ml. Water

2 tablespoons light brown sugar

2 tablespoons regular sugar

1 cinnamon stick

3 cloves

1 Teaspoon Grated Orange Peel

1 Pack of puff pastry

1 egg

Powdered sugar

Preparation:

Peel the pears thinly and leave the stems on. To make the pears stand upright, cut the bottom straight. Place a pan on a low heat and add Wine, Water, Cinnamon stick, Cloves, Orange peel and the Light brown and Regular sugar. Stir everything well until all the sugar has dissolved and then add the pears. Let the pears cook for about 20 minutes. Remove the pears and let them cool. Boil the wine for a while until it is nicely syrupy and then let it cool down. Cut the puff pastry into strips. Brush the pears with the syrupy wine and dress them with the strips of puff pastry. Brush the puff pastry with egg yolk and put the pears in a preheated oven at 200 degrees. Let them cook in the oven for 20 minutes. Then let the pears cool down and then sprinkle some icing sugar over them, a little ice cream of your choice and the party can begin.

Enjoy your meal …
